On 04/03/2011, the British Waste Recycling Group (WRG) awarded the contract for the con-struction of a waste-to-energy plant in North Hykeham / Lincolnshire to our French partner company CNIM.
The plant will be used for thermal treatment of approx. 150,000 t of municipal waste per year. As a result, high landfill taxes will be avoided in the future. The energy recovered will be used to generate enough electricity for approx. 10,000 households. What is more, the construction of a district heating network is being taken into consideration.
MARTIN will deliver the combustion system, based on the MARTIN reverse-acting grate with a throughput of 509 t/day and a thermal capacity of 49.7 MW. The MARTIN Infrared Combustion Control (MICC) system will be used for combustion control.
The plant is to start operating in autumn 2013.
