On 11/05/2021, AWG Abfallwirtschaftsgesellschaft mbH Wuppertal and MARTIN GmbH signed the contract for the replacement of boiler line 15 at the Wuppertal waste-to-energy plant.
MARTIN's scope of supply includes full construction of the new combustion and boiler systems for boiler line 15, as well as of the associated electrostatic precipitator, in the existing plant.
A particular challenge of this project is that the new equipment has to be fitted into the existing boiler house while leaving the boiler steel structure unchanged. Nevertheless, cutting edge technology such as the MARTIN reverse-acting grate Vario will be used, thereby upgrading the plant to the state of the art.
The Wuppertal waste-to-energy plant has a total of six combustion lines. Thanks to a sophisticated erection concept, the other five lines can continue to operate between the beginning of erection of the new line in mid-2022 and takeover by the customer in the second half of 2023.
We are glad for this opportunity to contribute to the upgrade of the plant and are looking forward to this exciting project.
