High-tech recycling and energy recovery from waste

27/07/2013

On 10/07/2013, VEOLIA Environmental Services UK awarded our French partner company CNIM the contract to build a state-of-the-art waste recycling centre for the city of Leeds.

CNIM and the British civil engineering contractor Clugston will be building the plant in the East Leeds Cross Green Industrial Estate. The plant is to start operating at the beginning of 2016.

The delivered waste will first be processed in a sorting and recycling facility. The materials that cannot be recycled are then treated thermally in a combustion line to produce electricity for approx. 20,000 households.

MARTIN will supply a reverse-acting grate with 3 runs and a total width of 7.070 m. The gross heat release will be 51.3 MW with a throughput of up to 20.5 t/h.
