MARTIN and MinPlus agree on cooperation

10/08/2016

MARTIN GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik, based in Munich, Germany, has extended its product portfolio with a fluidized-bed technology for low-calorific fuels by concluding a cooperation agreement with MinPlus B.V., based in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.

On 27 July 2016, Mr. Ulrich Martin, managing director of MARTIN GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik, and the managing directors of MinPlus B.V., Dr. Joep Biermann and Mr. Philipp Bergmann, signed the cooperation agreement for the joint marketing of the proprietary fluidized-bed technology for the combustion of low-calorific fuels. As part of the agreement, the Munich-based engineering firm also acquired a 15 % minority stake to strengthen cooperation between the two partners.

Martin GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik, a plant manufacturer with more than 90 years' experience, has thus strengthened its product portfolio for the treatment of fuels with extremely low calorific values and high moisture contents such as paper and sewage sludge. The technology known as CTC is designed to utilize such fuels reliably and efficiently without using additional energy.

In addition, by acquiring a stake in MinPlus B.V., Martin GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik underscores its commitment to successful marketing and further development of the MinPlus flue gas cleaning technology. MinPlus® is a sustainably manufactured, highly reactive and temperature-stable dry sorbent designed to remove acidic pollutants such as chlorine or sulphur from hot flue gases. The MinPlus® sorbent is injected directly into the combustion chamber, which significantly reduces the consumption of conventional chemical cleaning agents.
