On 22/6/2010 MARTIN signed a contract with AB Fortum Värme samägt med Stockholms stad for the erection of the Brista 2 waste-to-energy plant. This plant will be erected next to the existing Brista 1 biomass combined heat and power station in the municipality of Märsta, a suburb north of Stockholm. MARTIN's contractual services comprise the supply, installation, start-up and trial operation of the combustion system with the MARTIN reverse-acting grate, a steam boiler unit and the steel structure for the boiler house. Nitrogen oxides will be reduced by means of an SNCR system.
The new plant will have a gross heat release of 80 MW. The energy recovered will be used to generate electricity and heat for district heating. Start-up is planned for 2013.
