In March 2011, our cooperation partner Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environmental & Chem-ical Engineering Co., Ltd. (MHIEC) was awarded the contract to supply the technical equip-ment for the new Beijing Shougang plant. Four MARTIN reverse-acting grates with a width of 13.550 m will be used. The throughput is 4 x 750 t/d.
The plant will be located on the premises of the former Shougang steelworks in the western Shijingshan district of the capital Beijing. Steel production was relocated to the neighbouring Hebei province during the preparations for the Olympic Games in 2008. The land that be-comes available is to be used for environmentally-friendly businesses and modern residential areas.
Start-up of all 4 combustion lines is already scheduled for autumn 2012.
