First order to supply a dry digestion plant

22/02/2017

In March 2015, MARTIN GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik signed a cooperation agreement with Thöni Industriebetriebe GmbH for the purpose of utilizing the Thöni technology-based dry digestion procedure. Following this agreement, we can now announce that we have received our first order to supply a dry digestion plant.

The contract with Abfallverbrennungs- und Biokompost Gesellschaft mbH (AVBKG) for the construction of an anaerobic digestion unit and integration of the unit into the existing composting plant for organic waste at Tornesch near Hamburg was signed on 16/02/2017.

The dry digestion plant is to start operating at the beginning of 2018 and is designed for a throughput of 20,000 t/a of organic waste. The plant produces high-quality compost and biogas, which is used to generate electricity and heat in two CHP units.

The short period for implementation is a particularly challenging aspect of this project. This challenge can be met by implementing the steel-type plug flow digester so that the customer's requirements are successfully fulfilled.
