Order for the delivery of one combustion line

31/01/2011

The signing of the new contract was celebrated at a ceremony attended by all lot contractors in Copenhagen on 28 January 2011. The contracting entity is the KARA/NOVEREN association in Roskilde, Denmark, which already operates a WTE plant on the existing site. A MARTIN horizontal grate has been in operation in this plant since 1999.

The contract for line KN6 marks the first installation of a MARTIN reverse-acting grate for a Danish operator. The upgraded MARTIN reverse-acting grate Vario, which was presented at the 2010 IFAT fair, will be installed. A four-run grate with a total width of 10.48 m is planned for Roskilde.

The plant is designed for a gross heat release of 81.3 MW; and thermal treatment of up to 30 t/h of waste can be achieved. The superheated steam produced (425 °C and 50 bar) is converted to electricity in a counter-pressure steam turbine. The energy from the condensate which accumulates downstream of the turbine is fed into the local district heating network via heat exchangers.

MARTIN is responsible for the supply of lot A, which, in addition to the combustion system and steam boiler, includes the SNCR system, electrical instrument and control system, crane systems and feed water system with feed water treatment as well as piping and heat exchangers for district heating.

The installation of the components will begin in February 2012 after the planning and purchasing phase in 2011. Commissioning will begin in February 2013 and handover to the customer is scheduled for October 2013.
